Job Specifications

Entrants to our Graduate Trainee Programme work in one of three service areas in RSM Farrell Grant Sparks:

Each programme combines a structured induction module, study, on-the-job training as well as internal/external technical and soft skills training.

While our programmes can be challenging and technically demanding, the experience is fast-paced and ultimately rewarding.

Audit, Advisory and Assurance

Our firm provides a full suite of audit and accounting services for a wide range of clients, from family-run businesses to large corporations and multinationals in Ireland. Increasingly overseas opportunities exist, through our membership of RSM International, a global network with 714 offices in 83 countries.

Each graduate is assigned a mentor, and will study for a chartered accountancy qualification, while participating in a three-year training programme with the firm.

  • In the first year trainees are involved with audit assignments and dealing with audit exempt companies
  • In year two they form part of a team working on larger audit assignments, and will increasingly start to work off site independently
  • In the final year, as a senior, graduates can expect to manage an audit assignment together with supporting staff.

Taxation

Our Taxation department provides compliance and consultancy advice and support on a wide range of taxes – both Irish and, through our membership of the RSM International network, internationally.

We encourage graduates to study for the chartered accountancy qualification to give them a good grounding and accountancy background before studying for the AITI qualification.

From the outset, graduates form part of a team and are assigned clients, mainly working on tax compliance assignments such as income tax, corporate tax and VAT. As they progress into years two and three, they become more involved in tax consultancy assignments.

Graduate trainees are involved in a broad range of assignments for our clients, from private individuals and family-run businesses through to multinationals and, increasingly, international companies.
