With almost 30 years working in tax, including five years working with the Irish Revenue, Kevin Elliott brings a wealth of experience to his role. He is an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). His strength is in analysing intricate tax laws, regulations and practices to complex issues in order to devise tailored and practical advice to his clients.

Based on his prior years working with the Irish Revenue Commissioners, he retains a tremendous feel for the Revenue’s approach to transactions. He is highly experienced in the management of complex Revenue audits and can advise on the tax risks in respect of all the relevant taxes.

Tax advice and international clients

Kevin has significant expertise in advising international clients on all tax issues. He led significant growth in the international tax consulting business in Moore Stephens Caplin Meehan, which merged with our firm in July 2008.

Kevin was also involved in one of the longest running and successful tax appeals in Ireland, leading to significant tax refunds for all of his clients in that sector.  An indication of the success of that appeal is that it led to the Irish Revenue Commissioners changing the relevant tax law.

He provides tax advice to companies operating in a broad range of sectors including:

  • Manufacturing
  • eLearning and internet delivered services
  • Healthcare
  • International services
  • Construction and contracting
  • Intellectual property
  • Renewable energy

Investing in Ireland

Kevin has been involved in advising many multinational companies on setting up and continuing operations in Ireland.

He focuses on the tax aspects of corporate reorganisations, business disposals, restructurings, acquisitions and MBOs, and his clients include companies involved in some of the largest construction and infrastructure projects in Ireland.

Kevin is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland and is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. He is Chairman of the Indirect Taxes Committee of TALC – the joint Tax Administration and Liaison Committee made up of Senior Revenue officials and Tax practitioners. He is a member of the European Tax CoE and part of the Leadership Team for the European Tax CoE.

Kevin is located at our Dublin office.
