Michael Keenan
Michael Keenan is a partner in our Audit, Advisory & Assurance and our Restructuring & Insolvency teams. Entrepreneurial in approach, Michael has 25 years’ experience in assisting clients through change and difficulties.
Regarded as a good listener, he advises on all aspects of a client’s business and his areas of expertise include:
- Audit and accounting
- Insolvency
- Financial control
- Business succession planning
- Personal financial planning
Advisory Services
Michael’s client base at RSM Farrell Grant Sparks ranges from owner-managed businesses to multinational subsidiaries in a wide range of sectors, including IT, manufacturing, leisure, banks (insolvency services), professional service firms and property.
He has advised numerous businesses facing financial difficulties, and also acts as adviser in Independent Business Reviews for banks. He has taken many liquidation appointments and recently acted in the receivership of a nursing home.
Technology
Internationally, he has initiated and arranged a joint venture between technology companies based in Ireland and South Africa, and has provided outsourced services and audit services to several international companies with Irish operations.
Michael is a Chartered Accountant, a Qualified Financial Adviser, and a member of the Insolvency Practitioners of Ireland and of the Life Insurance Association. He served on the Audit Practice Review Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Longford accountants
Michael is a graduate of University College Galway. He trained with KPMG Dublin and was one of the founding partners in 1984 of chartered accountants Lyons Keenan Kilemade, based in Longford.
He became a partner our firm in September 2006 following our merger with Lyons Keenan Kilemade.
He is a former President of Longford Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and has held senior roles in various local voluntary and community organisations. He is also a director of Clarigen Ltd, which provides outsourced HR services. Michael is located at our Longford office.
